March 13, 2010 – Dakota Karate Club Invitational Tournament.  Tournament to take place at Darwin School, 175 Darwin Street.  Doors open at 9:00 am, attendance and warm-ups begin at 9:30 am sharp!  Entry fee is $30.00 for one or all events.  Late entries are subject to a $5.00 late feeRegistration deadline is March 5, 2010.  As part of your training I encourage all of you to participate in this event.  Forms are available at the club. (Information - Application)  We are looking for Karate and Non-Karate volunteers to help with this event.  If interested, please submit your name to Darlene before or after classes.  Please keep in mind that without competitors and volunteers this event can not happen.  If you are not competing try and take time to come out and watch this event and cheer on your fellow karate students.

March 25, 2010 – Ranking Examinations at Dakota Karate Club for all kyu ranks.  *Class will start at 7:00 PM for everyone with grading to follow*DON’T BE LATE!  There is no 13 & under class on this night.

6:15 – 7:00 PM

Little Tigers Assessment

7:00 – 8:00 PM

Examination Training (must attend to examine)

8:00 – 9:00 PM

Ranking Examination (younger students will be dismissed as early as possible)


JKA EXAMINATION FEES

Grading for: 8th kyu (yellow), 7th kyu (orange) belts

$25.00

Grading for: 6th kyu (green), 5th & 4th kyu (purple) belts

$35.00

Grading for: 3rd, 2nd & 1st kyu (brown) belts

$50.00

Cheques are payable to DAKOTA KARATE CLUB.  Please fill out the JKA Ranking Examination form (both top and bottom) and return along with payment prior to the grading date.  Also please fill out the grading sign in sheet.

SHOULD I GRADE?  Taking an examination is a privilege gained through training and a personal decision that should be based on your own development and confidence.  Examination for White, Yellow, Orange and Green belts – a minimum of 3 months continuous training is required between gradings.  Examination for Purple and Brown belts  – a minimum of at least 6 months continuous training is required between gradings.  All students are expected to attend the pre-grading class at our Club, whether you intend to grade or not. 

March 28, 2010 – Registration deadline for next session.  Please fill out a registration form, return along with payment and please make an effort to register on time.  Forms available at the Club and from the website.

March 13, 2010 – Dakota Karate Club is hosting an Invitational Tournament at Darwin School 175 Darwin Street – doors open at 9:00 am. This tournament is for the students in the Regular Program, as this forms part of their training. We would like to take this opportunity to invite the students from the Little Tigers program, along with their family to come out and watch the tournament.

March 25, 2010 - Sensei Kelly will be attending class and will take a look at your progress. Please don’t be late for class. Class will finish at 7:00 PM.

March 25, 2010 - Last class for this session. Also, registration deadline for the next session. This program has limited enrolment so preferential treatment will be given to students re-enrolling. Please fill out a registration form and return it along with payment.

April 1, 2010 – Class cancelled – Facility not available.

April 8, 2010 – Next session begins.


Uniforms If you would like to purchase a uniform, please fill out the Karate Gi order form and return along with payment as soon as possible. Cheques are payable to DAKOTA KARATE CLUB.
